GradyS
I picked up blacksmithing around October last year, this is my first knife. I don’t have much just an anvil, hammer, files, and an angle grinder. Made out of a piece of coil spring with threaded rod welded onto the tang to attach the pommel. Handle made from an old hickory handle. Seemed to harden very well. Scared to destruction test it too much because I have a lot of time in the thing at this point. Critique would be welcome. Thanks for your time.
Daswulf
I dig the style a lot. The choice of background for the photos is bad. A double edge dagger is ambitious for a first blade. Heat treating is an animal all itself.
Glenn
Choose a plain background to contrast against the details of the knife.
GradyS
Agreed be easier to see on a lighter background.

ThomasPowers
Any reason to put the "Stress Concentrators" in the ricasso? Or is this more a look but don't use blade?
Awrksmokey
Really good first knife!
kerryd
You did all that with files? It looks really cool for a first knife, or a twentieth knife for that matter.
TheoRockNazz
A fantastic first knife, very well done! You chose one of the more difficult projects in general too; turned out great.
D.Rotblatt
I'm impressed! Good looking dagger, nice details on the ricasso. Extremely well done and, as Theo said, it's a difficult project. In choosing this challenge you've set yourself up for more successes in the future!
