ForgingH
Hey y'all, I'm just east of Tallahassee and I have a newbie question. What skill level projects should I start with? As in, would it be better to try advanced projects like forge welding, grilling tools, and shelf brackets; or start with easier things like hooks and such, and gradually progress to higher-skilled projects? If there is already a thread on this please let me know where. Thanks in advance, Hux.

ThomasPowers
A lot depends on you! Are you the type who has no problem throwing away piece after piece after piece after spending 10-20 hours of time and a bit of money on each one? Or are you the type that likes to make useful or decorative items that are usable/decorative from the very start and gradually improve your skills? Funny how this reminds me of a recent incident where we needed to create a new test in our Validation suite and I showed the new hire the iterative approach to coding it: Start getting the basic loop working and then add line by line, testing it as you go, till you end up with a working script that does what you want---vs--- writing a complete script and then trying to debug it.
