Marcus J. Ranum
I've been doing some form of knife-making since I was in high school and ground a "prison shiv" out of one of my parents' nice Solingen steel tableware. Nowadays I'm doing basic damascus stuff, mostly small knives and random objects, just doing this for fun to see what I learn. I have no idea why but I've been on a kick of layering 1095 and victorian wrought iron into blades. Living in Pennsylvania steel and coal country, as I do, there's lots of interesting bits of metal and arcana (and old helpful machinists) around.
