I have too many hobbies (building acoustic guitars, fine woodworking, photography, and a few others), but I’ve been wanting to do some smithing for years. I’ve been looking for a decent anvil for a couple years now, but any good deals seemed to get snatched up quickly here in the Kansas City area. But I had some luck at a farm auction this past weekend. Went there hoping to buy one anvil, and drove away with two. The one on the top is a 99# Fisher made in 1881. The one on the bottom is a 133# Trenton. The Trenton logo is largely missing, but the “N” and part of the diamond are clearly visible. The Serial Number appears to be “A116815.” from compairing other serial numbers from prior posts, I’m guessing the date is somewhere between 1899 and 1910, but if anyone could nail the date down further, I’d be grateful.
