Please assure us that you were not the person who messed with the face of that anvil! I have a 91# A&H that I have smithing on for over 35 years now. Lovely anvil to work with.
all I did was light sanding and paint this anvil will be in the livingroom home
what is the name above the arm and hammer starts with a (w)
Wrought or Warranted
I say warranted too.
How about a picture of the serial number on the front foot under the horn?
That is an earlier vintage stamp. WARRANTED in an arc over the arm logo, and SOLID and then WROUGHT on each side of the logo.
I thought it was 612 but I don’t know if the last number is a 1 or casing mark so I went and painted it a number 1
Casing mark? 6121 would shift the year a bit.
