Glenn
Problem with youtube is anyone can post anything and make it look like a good idea. Many of those ideas are bad information, wrong, and dangerous. There is no way to sort out the good from the bad. and no way to correct the bad information on youtube. The material on this site is good and any posts that are otherwise self correct in a post or two. You can actually communicate with the authors of the posts and ask for more details or advice. Blacksmithing is a very deep subject and has been around long enough that many of the subjects have become specialties. This means that they are now much deeper with knowledge than you can imagine. Learn all you can in your area of interest, then take it to the forge and prove that it works. This will solidify the knowledge for you, so you can remember it.
