Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
The first thing I hear is it's running dry. They use a splash oiling system and mounted like you have it the gears won't pick up the oil to lube the other gears & bushings. They were designed to mount vertically not laying on their side. What are you using for lube?
Ouchmysciatica
Didn't know they needed any honestly, thanks again Irondragon.
swedefiddle
Good Morning, Every machine needs lubrication. Moving parts must have a film of oil. Shafts and bushings are splash lubricated. Any engine oil is sufficient, no specific weight or Grade. The way the blowers are set up, there is a reservoir space below the shaft height. The shafts do not have seals, if you overfill, it will leak out. You can cut a plastic oil bottle side open, now you can catch the drippins'. Enjoy your learnin' curve. Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
I use chainsaw bar oil with a little STP mixed in it stays on the gears and dosen't leak as badly as motor oil in my Champion Lancaster blowers.
Ouchmysciatica
I didn't have bar oil so I shot for att fluid. Now it just hums beautifully. Still sideways tho. Lol, I'm not sure where to put it vertically.
