blackfox
I found this leg vise last Saturday at a flea market. I almost walked away from it, but I’m glad It followed me home. It was caked with 4 layers of paint, all different colors. I don’t have a before picture for comparison, but i cleaned it up exposing its nice design details and the Peter Wright Patent Solid Box markings. A nice surprise ! The jaws are 4 inches. The screw is in good shape, the box is solid, and the spring keeps the clean jaws taught. I’m new here but, I thought I’d share some pics of it cleaned up with you guys. Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
Excellent find and you did very well indeed. A good job cleaning it up, just oil it and put it to work.

MC Hammer
Very nice! I've suspected mine is a Peter Wright for a while now but the box has no markings. Mine looks an awful lot like yours.
blackfox
Thanks everybody ! I can't wait to put her into service and start pounding. I need to sort out a mount next. MCHammer, yours indeed looks very similar. Could very well be a Peter Wright. But I guess there is no way to be sure. Nice Vice and nice stand ! MC Hammer
It doesn't affect the performance of the vise, but it's just good information to have. My vise came out of an old blacksmith shop in Maine and was taken very good care of other than the person cutting off the 3rd bolt hole on the mounting plate. Stash
Good looking vise. I have it's twin, but not as purty looking as yours. Steve
