Simply bend 1/2" rnd. stock in a series of hair pins with about 3?" gap and lay them across the tuyere with about 3/8" between. A good alternative is to just cut and lay the rnd. bars with gaps. This is what I'll be replacing the grate in my bottom blast rivet forge when the time comes. It's an easy build and is really easy to work with. clinker clears out easily. Frosty The Lucky.
