Nobody Special
Sometimes I'm lucky forging. The more I practice, the luckier I get. Practice doesn't make perfect. Good practice makes better. Bad practice makes more of the same. If you hit it, dress it. Clean (and clean up) your tools regularly. Cheap stuff usually ends up costing more. PPE is your friend. Stay close to your friends. (P.S. Gloves are more like associates) Prep ahead. Don't have to make the choice between burning the iron or pulling it out before you;ve found all your tools. Unplanned shipping can take longer than forging the piece. Group shipping together or charge for the time. Your phone is NOT in a safe place. And the dog has your rawhide mallet. MC Hammer
When starting out don't forge on an anvil stand that is too small for the anvil. The whole operation can tip over on you and you can burn your finger almost to the bone. Don't ask I keep the hospital wrist band in my apron pocket to this day to remind me not to be stupid. Borntoolate
Stay safe. Life is TOO long to go threw it without all your parts. Regret is something we all want to avoid like the plague. It goes with life is TOO long since regret stays with you forever. Just like missing body parts stay missing forever though progress is being made in some areas of this. ThomasPowers
If numerous experienced people are doing something in the same general way; don't automatically assume your "fresh viewpoint" is better. AKA "Though this be madness, yet there is method in't." Find out why they don't use the way you think is superior!
