TheTacticalMop Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 I'm new to this page and I'm new to blacksmithing. I have built a propane forge with kaowool and it will not get hot enough to heat the metal to a orange/red hot unless it is right on the flame from the burner I am using. I was wondering if I could cut off a part of this old turkey roaster and use it as another burner. I am using a bigger propane tank with a hose and a regulator to connect to the tiny burner that I have and the turkey roaster already has a hose and a regulator. Also the red line on the turkey roaster is about where I would cut it off. Quote
Steve Sells Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 dump the hand torch and build a Frosty T burner. Quote
JHCC Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 Welcome aboard! If you haven't yet, please READ THIS FIRST! If your forge only has unrigidized kaowool, stop using it now. You are creating a health hazard for yourself and others. Please read the Forges 101 and Burners 101 threads. They will give you a LOT of information that will get you going in the right direction, and if you can't find what you need, you will at very least be able to ask better questions. Quote
TheTacticalMop Posted April 6, 2018 Author Posted April 6, 2018 Thanks for the quick reply! I will look at those immediately. Quote
