Timber Ridge Forge
The anvil is the main thing but might buy the press depending its cost
Frosty
Yeah, a fly press would be handy, it'd be worth making an offer or counter offer on. The little farrier's anvil would be okay if the price were right and the combo tool would be an excellent display piece but I wouldn't make much of an offer. Frosty The Lucky. ThomasPowers
Hoskins #2 Screw Press, only a two lead so a bit slow for forging but handy none the less---mine is great for slitting and drifting, incising, etc. (I got mine at a factory auction where nobody wanted the old tech; got it for a US$50 bid + another $50 for buyer's reaming and getting it loaded on my truck by a rigger.) Anvil is one of the modern farrier types; note the extremely small sweet spot and very thin heel. Probably doesn't weigh much. Look over the new prices before agreeing to a used price! Timber Ridge Forge
Yeah believe the price is fair they want 500 for everything
ThomasPowers
GET OFF THE NET ALREADY; YOU SHOULD BE HALFWAY THERE BY NOW!
Timber Ridge Forge
Just waiting on some help first. I only want the fly press been looking for one for a while but might just take it all and sell the rest
ThomasPowers
The screwpress is very large and topheavy. Be very careful moving it as it will catastrophically break if tipped over or dropped!
Timber Ridge Forge
Yeah as much as I want that press I dont think i am going to get it. I think its more then I can handle moving safely. I still want that vise but not sure if it worth the trip
George Geist
From this vantage point it looks like a Multi Products anvil. They were at their manufacturing high water mark in the 1960's. If not that then I'd guess maybe a Little Tex. George
Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
Yep..we have an MP farriers anvil (90lb) like that one it's handy for light work but not our "go to" anvil.
Judson Yaggy
Little anvil, crummy vise, wicked good press. Buy em all, sell the first 2 for a profit, and get paid to own a nice press. The wheel/weight shoud be removeable, as well as the legs, for a more user friendly moving package.
Lou L
That press would demand at least $1500 anywhere near me. This depresses me because my wife would rubber stamp $500 for that lot all day with Judson’s sales pitch.
Timber Ridge Forge
Yeah I ended getting the vise and anvil for a fair price and helped put them in contact with someone to buy the press. I would of liked to have it but it was not in the cards
ThomasPowers
Funny thing; first one like that I saw I ended up brokering a trade between two friends---I happened to know that one had a press and wanted to get rid of it and another was looking for one. So I put them together and everyone was happy. Second one is *MINE*! That one is #
