Which brings me back to my earlier question about the possibility of removing galvanization with electrolysis -- in particular, the safety factor: does the electrolytic process create zinc oxide fumes or the like, or does it just blast the zinc off the steel to settle to the bottom of the bucket? I plugged the battery charger into a power strip and turn it off before I do anything with it, and turn it on after everything is ready.
