Todd Grant
I live in Kitchener ON, and I am wondering what is the best blade quenching oil? Does anyone know where i can go to get some in or around my area?
JHCC
Hi, Todd, and welcome to IFI. This is a really basic question that's been discussed here a number of times. The simple answer is, "Best" for what? What steel are you using? What are you making? What are the intended uses of this item? Etc. As one of our members likes to say, I need a car: should I get a Ferrari or a dump truck? Check out the earlier discussions of quenching oils, and see if they either answer your question or help you understand better what you're actually looking for. Good luck. Todd Grant
Lol point taken but as i stated i will forging knife blades. After awhile i will most likely move onto longer blades. But either way it will be for bushcraft type blades. As a reference i will ask what oil they would use on "forged in Fire".

swedefiddle
Good Morning, Todd Get away from your keyboard, walk around Kitchener to "Two Smiths". They are expert in what you are dreaming of. Join the Ontario Artist Blacksmiths Association, they have a HUGE network of very knowledgeable Blacksmiths. In your own town!!!!
