eseemann
This is from the what not to do according to what I have been told so far. The man does not seem to have a respirator. They are in a building, well ventilated as it is, but still I got to wonder about that guys lungs after a while.

Frosty
Okay I missed burning zinc . No green flame, no feathery smoke and I didn't see where in the video if they said what they were casting. The tongs came back awfully bright for such a short dip in molten brass. I credit it probably was not yellow hot due to typical digital camera misrepresentation of heat colors but that was too hot in my experience. The above linked video doesn't pass my basic skeptic's test. On the menu that came up after the above one was done running does show zinc burning relatively well though it's too dark to see the smoke. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSvBV8Su5j8 Maybe I'll check some of the others and see if there's a better example. Zinc does NOT dump a lot of oxide fumes in the air without blatantly obvious warning signs. Green flames and white lacy smoke? Leave the room, go cross wind. Frosty The Lucky.
