CrookedBlade
So, im a learning blacksmith and im about to build the first my own forge, i was thinking layering a baking pan with some clay and then putting some firebricks for the walls, and a straight steel pipe with a crack cut in and a 1600 watt hairdryer for the air source. Would it work?

ThomasPowers
Work for what? Using what fuel? "Some Firebricks": is that enough, too many or not enough?

Charles R. Stevens
For simplicities sake a side blast with the 3/4-1" ID tuyere and the native mineral soil in a box 8" deep will get you started.
