I Forge Iron

6 year olds blacksmithing project

Thanks Glenn, no, definitely no unsuitable footwear allowed. I've ordered some genuine leather work boots, gloves and apron in his size.

To be fair to myself though....on the day he was wearing cotton joggers/hoodie, leather football boots and Kevlar gloves(albeit a tad big for him)

And didn't forget the specs!

Didn't do too badB)

And gloves, they are a mixed blessing in the forge. They generate a bad habit of handling unknown steel buy hand, grab a piece of 500f steel and buy the time you relies it, you now have a hot glove you cannot get off fast enugh. I typicaly do hot work gloveless, and cold work gloved.

Pant legs ove boots, and if mom buys him to long a pants roll the cuffs to the inside. Caught my self on fire with a set of over long overalls cuffed to the outside.
