ThomasPowers Posted September 11, 2017 Share Posted September 11, 2017 I once experimented with Theophilus' famous quench; only thing that saved my hide was that I was using the exhausted dye vat from my wife's experiment with traditionally dyed indigo that I had been "request" to both fill and deal with... Stevens Posted September 11, 2017 Share Posted September 11, 2017 As you can tig weld stainless, you might consider just laying the axe on a copper plate and running a bead if hardfacing rod along the edge, flip and repeat.
