I Forge Iron

Help me identify this yardsale find

Recommended Posts

Welcome aboard David, glad to have you. If you'll put your general location in the header you might be surprised how many of the Iforge gang live within visiting distance. There are guys here who are a LOT better at IDing anvils from a few pics. A look at the side so we can see the face plate and body boundary will help as will a pic of the "square" and a shot of the bottom.

Regardless of it's brand, age, composition, it's a killer deal for a $20.00. The hardy hole will support bottom tools if the face is too soft to forge on.

So what're your plans for it? Going to take up the craft I hope. We'll be more than happy to help get you hooked on this addictively fun sport of playing with fire and hitting things with hammers. It's so much fun it should be illegal. REALLY it IS! :)

Frosty The Lucky.
