GMoore
I'm looking for a tool which will allow me to "stamp" in a parallel channel. I know I'm not explaining this very well, but I want to put veins on leaves, so the end result would be a small rounded line with a "groove" cut along both sides - but small. Any ideas? ThomasPowers
Got one; it's a very small top swage. The end is something like VV, use it with the screwpress and it leaves a ridge with troughs on either side.
John McPherson
Alas and alack! If only you knew a blacksmith! Then they could...make?...you the tool?...that you need?........ for blacksmithing...??? Or are you asking for a how-to on making your own tooling? There must be a hundred different tools that you could make out of scrap steel like springs or hex wrenches to texture leaves. Here is one. Glenn
How many leaves do you need to make? What size are the leaves?
Al Stephens
Here's a "leaf" punch I made about 20 years ago. Cut the veins with a chisel, ground it to shape on a belt sander. Made from an old 3/8" allen wrench. Leaf measures about 1/4" square. I've used it on brass, copper, aluminum, cold mild steel.
