beammeupscotty
I appreciate that politics has no real place here on IFI, but this was posted on the blacksmith subreddit and I feel it is important enough to warrent reposting here. Please do not patronize Diamondback Ironworks. Link removed due to conflict with IFI standards of posting, look it up yourself to see if you desire, warning language and racial slander. ThomasPowers
How have you checked that out before posting? Did you call them and ask about it? I'd want to be sure they are not the victim of hacking before spreading it! Just as I'm sure you would want other people to check out hacked postings of yours if they were to occur. Michael Cochran
Definitely looks like a classic old school hack to me. If you have any questions reguarding the legitimacy of that message it could be cleared up with nothing more than a couple messages with the site admin. ThomasPowers
I can't call from work; but if it's not checked out before I get home I will try.
Michael Cochran
9 minutes ago, ThomasPowers said: I can't call from work; but if it's not checked out before I get home I will try. I called the number listed on the contact page. There was no answer and voicemail is not setup. Of course that phone number could be part of the hack if it was indead hacked. ThomasPowers
Anybody have an old number for Diamondback?
rockstar.esq
My first thought is that it's a hack just because of how crudely it's posted. Specifically, the font choice, size, and color don't match the rest of the page. That said, I've never seen the site before so I don't really know. Either way, the cruelty involved is only enhanced by acting rashly. Thomas, I tried to find a cached version of the site without any success. I'll PM you a phone number I found. ThomasPowers
Note that nobody is suggesting we don't boycott; just that we don't boycott before we know the truth!
Tubalcain2
Mr. meyers has had controversial statements posted on his home page for a while. he puts a new one up every week or so.
Lou L
And apparently one is an idiot if one disagrees with him.... According to recent research in neuroscience Mr. Meyers have an enormous amygdala at the cost of his prefrontal cortex.
Steve Sells
The owner of diamondback has refused to answer his phone, but it is not a hack, apparently it sadly is his post. So like he said "if we dont like it we go elsewhere"
ThomasPowers
OK; we've had confirmation I'll say "Let the boycott begin!" (everyone to their own personal beliefs of course).
rockstar.esq
Thanks to all for filling in the gaps. I suggest we turn our attention back to blacksmithing.
Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
I agree and this thread probably should be moved into the Everything Else section.
ThomasPowers
Everyone should act according to their own ethics, morals and beliefs. Personally I will not buy or suggest his products.
Glenn
At this point I will close the thread so it does not turn political.
