matto
What is this?? Found on an old farmstead in Nebraska, my thoughts are a potato digger or chaff cutter. It is missing a wood handle. edge is sharp. All forge welded together.
Alan Evans
I know them as a Clay spade, sometimes called Clay Fork...cuts a slab and prevents the suction from holding the clay to the blade....allows it to release easily. They use the same open backed idea for excavator buckets for the same reason. Alan
