Eric Green
Found this Video, wish i found it before i failed with my first set of tongs. he shows you how to work the Nippers. The series is really nice to. a guy is restoring a Blacksmithing shop at a museum.
ThomasPowers
Doesn't know the difference between annealing and normalizing makes me discount any heat treat info he gives. Needs more coal in the forge. Not an expert. Sticking a piece of the correct sized cold steel between the bits and hamming then down with a striker works faster and easier. "Leave the rivets in"----one was definitely a bolt with a nut!
Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
I only watched the video till the 4 min mark and his wobbly anvil had me hollering at the computer so I shut it off. I have re-purposed many nippers in my day.
Frosty
I was hoping a piece of slag would fall in his sneaker or on his leg. Bad thoughts I know, my bad. "Annealed(?)" 3 times before forging? Makes you wonder what he thinks forging temperature means. Not much skill at the anvil either, maybe not enough for a good anvil stand to do him any good. There's nothing wrong with making tongs from hoof nippers if that's what you have but this guy is NOT someone to emulate. Frosty The Lucky.
