Ranchmanben, these tongs simply look awesome!  I intend to draft them on paper (copy the design, that is!) and have a go at it. Do you mind? Would 3/8x1" starting stock seem right? At the shoulder, you seem to be offsetting from both sides..  any reason?  Thanks, I have been avoiding tong making for too long. I just got into it and I love the puzzle and the satisfaction.
