ThomasPowers
It's fairly modern and the price would depend a lot on location which you didn't specify.
BIGGUNDOCTOR
That is a John Brooks anvil. Good quality. Anvils are pretty inexpensive in the UK compared to what they go for in Alaska, so where are you located?
NickOHH
That's a Brooks, manufactured by Vaughn now if it doesn't say Brooks on it, I have the same one , love it, it's good and hard, beefy heel, good rebound.
Michael Perry
How much is it worth in american dollars
NickOHH
Hard to say , depends on where you are and whose looking.
Glenn
American dollars depends on your location and the location of the anvil. If the anvil is located in one part of the world and needs shopped to another part of the world, shipping could cost more then the anvil. Where are you located, as it makes a difference. ThomasPowers
Price can vary by 50% just depending on where you are in the USA. I was lucky to anvil up when living in the happy hunting grounds for blacksmiths and folks get pounty when I mention the prices I paid... John McPherson
An excellent solid cast steel anvil in excellent condition. Good user, not collectible, just not well known in the US. I have never seen one broken, but have had to resurface an abused face with aggressive abrasive work. The deep induction hardening process meant that the newly exposed surface was still quite hard. (And grinding was a royal pain!) No other anvil with a steel face over a wrought or cast iron body has ever done that for me. No dealer around here (Southeastern US) would let it go for less than $500, and would probably try for $750. That specific enough for you? Fatfudd
I bought one the same size for our blacksmithing group and paid $300 for it. It might go for a little more here in NM but probably not much more.
