Ijimmyzw22
Please critique. It's my my fourth knife. Made from an old octagon crowbar. The handle I powder coated flat black. Polished to a high luster.
JHCC
Very cool idea, but the high polish makes it hard to see the blade geometry.
BIGGUNDOCTOR
How well does it work? A crowbar is probably a medium carbon steel since you only want them tough, not brittle hard. Did you do a sample heat treat to see how hard it can get? Nice job on the polishing.
ThomasPowers
Get it wet/slimey and see if your hand wants to slide forward towards the edge when in various uses. What did the original steel spark like? What heat treat did you use?

Ijimmyzw22
Thank you for the input. Yes I heat treated with used motor oil and it hardened up nicely. Yes I get the bit about no guard for the blade. Started out just seeing if it would draw out nicely and ended up with this. It feels good in the hand. Thanks again for the input. Will W.
As stated, I would mainly just worry about your hand slipping forward during use. It could potentially injure the user. Just as a recommendation for the next one, maybe try grinding/forging/filing finger grooves in? If lined up properly, they make it feel great in the hand too. Just my two cents. Looks pretty good though, nice work.
poppaclutch
Looks like a slashing tool but first thing I thought of was hand slipping up. Nice looking.
