Dustin Stark
Hi, my name is Dustin and when I look into buying ferric chloride I only see it in powder form... I was wondering what I can mix the powder with to liquify it, Thank you
ThomasPowers
There's this neat website call iforgeiron.com where they have discusssed this sort of stuff for *years*! Now the search function on that site is not always the easiest to use so you can use something like google and search on the key words and iforgeiron as well example: Ferric chloride "powder" mix rate? - Finish and Polish - I Forge Iron www.iforgeiron.com › Bladesmithing › Finish and Polish Dec 2, 2008 - Does anyone know what they usual powder=water ... ... Mix 1 lb of the powder with 4 gallons of distilled water .. Now most of these answers were for etching pattern welded blades; if you are intending to use it for any of the other uses, (electrolysis, etching copper, etc), it would be best to say so rather than giving a question that has differing answers depending on information you don't provide.
