Woodsydad
I recently built a side draft hood. It drafts good but, i can not keep coke built up. With the flame all pulling to one side, the green coal that i rake on does not coke up very well. I never had that problem with my outside open air forge or when i had a hood over the firepot. My firepot is right next to the bottom of the super sucker. Thank you for any advise.
Glenn
The super sucker is working. It is drawing smoke and flame up and out of the work area as it was designed to do. You may want to move the super sucker back from the fire a short distance to reduce the draft. Turn the air flow down a bit by partially blocking the entrance of the super sucker. Block more and more until you remove the smoke but reduce the draft to something you like better.
