forging-fool
Recently I've been making these garden trowels for clients. They are forged from automotive leaf spring, 70mm x 8mm x 200mm.

Mark Ling
At first I thought it said "forged TOWELS" and I was like wow this will be interesting. very nice, is it two pieces (it doesn't really look like it)? how did you get that triangle thing at were the handle meets the blade? spring swage? did you heat treat? I know, I know, that's a lot of questions, but its a good way to learn. Littleblacksmith
forging-fool
Littleblacksmith, it is one piece. The raised section was created using normal a fuller. No heat treating, other than annealing to release the stress from the heavy forging, then I just normalized it.
Andrew T
Nice form and a clean forging. Is it a socket for a wood handle ? I'd like to see a photo of the back.

Yes, although I made them long so you don't need the handle but its there just in case.
