AnvilsGlorious
Hi I've acquired this anvil in Maine from a collector, who must of died and the family sold off 30 of them.. If anyone can help me ID it that would be nice, and maybe a date or any information on it. It rings well. Has a nice rebound. Its 191 Pounds, I can read " I ?IL? MINGHA " I assume it's Isaac Hill Birmingham. I can't find anything about this maker or any pictures of his anvils just that he made anvils in England in the early 1800's. It does have a hole on the bottom of the anvil. Any information is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Judson Yaggy
I owned an I. Hill for a while, good solid anvil. Hardy hole was an odd 15/16". Yours has been machined probably to fix a chipped edge. Might affect collector's value but not usability.
