It belonged to my great grandfather and we believe it dates back to late 1800's or early 1900's. I believe it is an Arm and Hammer brand not sure, very worn around stamp. It has number 30821 on the right side of foot. It has 108 stamped below trademark. I am attaching pictures. If there is anyone that can help it would greatly be appreciated. Thank you. notownkid Posted February 5, 2016 Share Posted February 5, 2016 It appears to be an 108 lb Arm & Hammer made by Columbus Anvil & Forging Co. Columbus Ohio, would think the 30821 is a serial # should be 1917 -1918 time span. This is according to "Anvils in America" by Postman. Interesting in that your anvil has both the A&H and O.L. logos overstamped on each other, quite neat!! ThomasPowers Posted February 8, 2016 Share Posted February 8, 2016 Check the underside of the heel A&H anvils tended to leave in the steam hammer blow markings and so an anvil with no readable stampings can be identified as one of theirs.
