Almost done, needs sharpening

My latest piece. W-Pattern Damascus blade. 1095/15N20. 7-7/8" long by 1-5/16" wide. Stabilized Black Ash burl. Red Bronze and 416 spacers, 416 guard, pins, and frame.  The spine and heel of the handle are filed like the belly (shown) Filework is browned with Birchwood Casey Plum Brown finish

Two piece frame handle. Each piece is .06" thick 416 stainless. The two piece frame allows you to use the center of the frame to develop file work patterns. Most file work is done in bas relief, so you remove material and what is left behind is the pattern. I try to find ways to do the opposite, create a pattern out of void space.
