Frosty Posted August 3, 2015 Share Posted August 3, 2015 No I don't have pics of an iron melter though I saw one in action in a bronze melter in 12. No help I know but they didn't use any special mount or melter just the standard cylindrical kiln body with a half fire brick to stand the crucible on. The burner was mounted at the bottom aimed tangential to make a vortex, the exhaust vent was in the center of the hinged lid. Just like the ones we used in jr. and high school shop class.Robert said, back when, that they set it up just like a standard melter so that's what I assume that's the configuration they're using.Frosty The Lucky.
