ianinsa
I found this in a scrapyard, is anyone using one? Does it work well? Do you have pictures? Is it worth restoring?
Jim Coke
Greetings Ian, Looks like a blower from a boiler or large furnace to me. Way to much air for a forge???? Forge on and make beautiful things Jim

yves
Jim, Does an electric blower from a domestic furnace also produce too much air for a forge? Yves
Jim Coke
Greetings Yves. Any blower will do the job if you can regulate the speed and volume. I have seen blowers like Ians feed a complete shop with several forges... Most just start with a regulated hair dryer... A blower from a domestic furnace feeds a flame many times that of a forge. It could work if you controlled the speed and volume ... Good luck and keep your forge simple... yves
Jim, I presently use a Champion 400. I was thinking of using it in a demo forge I would like to set up thus year hopefully. I would use the electric furnace blower in the forge. I thank you for the prompt answer. Yves
