ausfire
Here's an anvil that needed a new home. It has no visible markings and my guess is it would weigh in at about 120#. It's in quite good condition - good bounce and flat. Very usable. Not much to go on I know, but any ideas about its possible make, age? Dabbsterinn
my guess would be söderfors, could also be a PW, i've heard they look similar, the feet are a bit of a puzzle, can you tell if they're like that from factory or somebody modified it? ausfire
Yes, the feet do look a bit odd. Whether they were holes that have broken through and are now just grooves, I'm not sure. It does look a bit like a PW but without the usual step base.It has a very clear ring and about 80% bounce.
Everything Mac
That foot shelf can often be a bit worn. Take a wire wheel to it and see if anything is revealed. There will be some marks stamped on the feet under the horn if it's a PW. And on the sides obviously. Any numbers you can reveal will help. It could easily be a soderfors.
