jeremy k Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 This is a 5" x 7" clay tile/plaque pattern I made for a bronze casting class I'm taking. I would rather move red hot metal vs. clay to get shapes I need. Lots of hours into this but, for the most part it came out the way I envisioned it. Now, I hope the Bronze pour turns out - will update when that happens. Quote
jeremy k Posted September 29, 2014 Author Posted September 29, 2014 The sand ramming went good and the pattern released without any major damage to the sand, mold wash was applied so bronze does not burn into the sand, ready to close up and pour. Quote
jeremy k Posted September 30, 2014 Author Posted September 30, 2014 Yes on the mixed/catalyzed sand - mold wash, I do not remember what the chemical it was called - not a commercial class - but mat'ls are from the bigger foundry suppliers. I do not know the names of them. I'm just taking the small 4-5 person class. Quote
jeremy k Posted October 4, 2014 Author Posted October 4, 2014 Well the casting was a success. The sprue, riser and gates are cut off and just cleaned up with a hand wire brush. Quote
