Nobody Special
Bevel's wrong for a watermelon roaster. Duh. Obviously for cantelope.
ThomasPowers
I was amusing myself visualizing PA Dutch catching crocs; perhaps global warming will bring a new revenue stream to the area... I think Zucchini roaster would be more likely (*why* do they ever put more than *4* seeds in a package of Zucchini seeds!)
John McPherson
You know that you live in the boonies when you only have to lock your house and car in the summer to keep people from "gifting" you with baskets of zucchini. <_<
ianinsa
I think its an 'attention concentrator' place one of those in someone's lap and you will have their Undivided attention!Ian
ThomasPowers
ahh the sort of thing you sit on the front porch filing on the spikes of when your daughter's date arrives....
Derrick55
It doesn't seem we're agreeing just yet, so I want to dig some more. -Are the two other objects just like the one in the picture? Do they look like the same smith made them, and if not, are the spikes as crude and blunt as in this one? I haven't seen the other two, the owner brought this device to a tool collectors meeting where I took the photos. He said the other two were very similar but since they were hand made they were not the exact same.
Neil Blythin
ahh the sort of thing you sit on the front porch filing on the spikes of when your daughter's date arrives....as a father of four (three of whom are daughters), I *really* like this idea. Will have to file that one away for future use...
ThomasPowers
I had two daughters; grown now, youngest is expecting her third son; anyway they tell me all their boyfriends were terrified of me---always nice to hear that you are doing a good job! Steve Sells
always found an excuse to be hand sanding a sword or cleaning a rifle when my daughters dates were around....
Dan C
The last time my daughter's boyfriend was over I demonstrated to him how I could throw a hawk I just forged thru a fence. He's a good kid, but a little fear is a good thing.
Frosty
I like Bill Engval's words to his daughter's dates. "I don't mind going back to prison." Frosty The Lucky.

Glenn
Pretty much done. So, what is the answer to what ever the spiked thing is and or does?
yahoo2
I think it is for feeding sheaves of fodder to stock. it needs to be well gripped and solid so they can tear mouthful's off. The hook underneath the jaws could be used to hinge it up and out the way. cattle or weaner calves?
