BCROB
Been looking for awhile and these are very difficult to find where I'm at........ and to find one in excellent physical and running condition near impossible up here in Canada, patience and checking numerous buy an sells ads daily (many times) has finally paid off , truth be known the rarity of them here , I would have bought in pretty much any condition !!!!! Frosty
Patience is hard but it can sure be worth it eh Rob? I'm pretty sure you only LOOK like a giant next to the hammer. Having the bottom die well below waist level is why I mounted mine on 4"x12" beams through bolted together and while not perfect working height it's so much better. Your new baby looks to be in pretty good condition. When was it run last? Did you get to take it for a trial run? Have her spot picked out? Does she have a name? I call mine Bobbie. Frosty The Lucky. forger
Beautiful hammer, I have one just like it even the same color. Mine was made in 1906 ser# 617 IIRC. Runs great, very controlable. Have fun. Mike

Thanks Frosty , as for a name nothing yet but I'm sure she'll get one real soon...... last time running was about 5 mins after I put it on the temporary foundation !!!! ran beautiful , but yes was able to test run it before loading on my trailer. Bought it from a real nice old fella that really was truly sorry to see it go.......before I left he handed me a handful of tongs and a real nice dog nose hammer....... and next time thru town maybe a 148lb Trenton ! Wasn't quite ready to sell it yet ....... it's on a temp foundation of 4 x 6's with a 1" rubber horse stall mat (shhh don't tell my wife !!) for now and when I pour the slab that you see behind in the photo that will be it's permanent resting place......I'm away on business til Friday but I can't wait to get back home to play with it a bit , I may have a few questions for the hammer experts here in the very near future !! Mike Thanks Mike , mine is a very clear easy to read #501 , assuming that's around the same era ? Very controllable indeed, was able to feather it right down and then giv'r if needed...... aplater
Where in BC do you live Rob? I live on Vancouver Island, I bought both of my hammers from the states. Guards are a good idea on these hammers.
