Hyd pressure return

Recommended Posts

It's expended energy on the work and there is virtually no resistance flowing into the reservoir. Return lines are usually larger diameter to help reduce the force necessary to return it to the reservoir.

If however the return line gets plugged it will quickly build to the same pressure as the pump output. Hopefully it just stalls the motor if not it is a B-A-D thing.

On a double acting cylinder, back pressure in the return line directly reduces the force available
