tanyardsmith22
I recently bought a 400+ pound anvil off of Craigslist and it does not have any markings anywhere except on the front between the feet, it has IN stamped and that's all. I took pictures of the front and back and the sides and top, I would have took a picture if the bottom but it's already stapled to my stump. Any help is greatly appreciated
FireInTheForge02
It could be a Mouse hole or even a fisher... seen anvils with those strange markings on them but forgot the name. :(
Black Frog
Forged anvil, it is not a Fisher.
Frank Turley
It's old and it's English.
ThomasPowers
Postman said he's documented over 200 different english anvil makers so far (IIRC) many of them making anvils very similar in appearance. Without better markings you may have to settle for "Old, English, Usable" and get to work on it!
CJF
It looks to be a solid wrought anvil with the characteristic swayback. I have a 181 lb solid wrought Peter Wright.
