Vendarien Brunnbar
I found 400 lbs hay budden very nice anvil for $2000 on Lubbock Craigs list recently. Does any one know what kind it is and how much it is worth? I havnt taken a look at it yet because its a few hours drive from me so if any one has an idea I would appreciate it. bigfootnampa
Uuumm... I'll take a guess... Hay Budden? If it is really 400 pounds and has good rebound the price is not unreasonable. I would likely try to bargain a bit though. Worth a look if you are needing such an anvil I would say. From your post here though, I am doubtful that you are really ready to make full use of an anvil of this size.
BIGGUNDOCTOR
Yep, it's a Hay Budden just like he posted it as. It appears he is a dealer since he has a few more anvils in the truck bed. For me that price is way too much at $5 a pound. But others would have no problem with it.
Fatfudd
Looks like a decent anvil altho you really can't see the edges and whether the top has been redone. If you have that much money to spend go for it but very few people need a 400lb anvil. I agree it looks like a dealer, I can see at least 2 other anvils in his truck. VaughnT
He's pricing it right at the start of "brand new anvil" territory so take that into consideration. If you have two grand to spend, look at having a smaller anvil delivered to your door. I bought a 300# Fisher anvil off of ebay and had it shipped to my front door using uship.com. Cost of shipping was only $200. You can do the same and get a really nice anvil for far less than a grand!
