Metal worker

Recommended Posts

Don't know if this is the right place...as good as any. There is a metal worker in the Seattle area. Looks like it's scrap price or so.  Maybe that means it needs a lot of work. Don't know any details, but someone here might could use the thing for $1200 XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

There are a few problems with this post:   1) we have a section for machines this is for simple tools. 2)sales should go in tailgating not the general forum, and 3)  No off site sales please.

Not really a great price considering all the work it could need and it is missing a very expensive motor.

Not saying it isn't a useful tool, it is, in fact I have used several and owned a similar one for years.

In fact, flywheel powered ironworkers are faster than hydraulic ones, so for the right product or operation in could be a money maker.

Downsides; Completely unsafe according to Osha. Could be brought up to code, another bunch of money to spend.

Extremely top heavy machine, difficult to move.

Requires it's own footer to be properly installed.

No interrupted cycle like a hydraulic unit. Once the clutch is engaged the cycle MUST be completed. So possibly a part could get ruined.

Further; you pretty much need to be a millwright to set up and run this machine.

Also, about 6 times scrap price.
