First attempt, damascus jewelry

Recommended Posts

I was inspired by the recent displays of Damascus pendants. I had tried to make a pattern welded billet. It had too many failed welds in it to be usable (I thought at the time). But the mention of using cutoffs to make the jewelry got me to thinking about my failed billet. I was able to salvage a few sections. I made these two pendants from a couple of those pieces.

I used a small drill to drill the original hole, then used a combination of dremel tool and jeweler's files to shape them. The second one has the holes laterally in the two angled top pieces so that a chain can just fit through there and not need a ring to hang it from.

Sorry for the poor picture quality. I need to get a good camera.
