SteamPunked Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Just got my first anvil, a 77# Trenton. Could someone help identify the year built? The serial number is 56284. Its a little smaller than I wanted but at least I have something to use while I continue my search for a larger one. Thank you. Quote
Jakesshop Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 "Anvils in America" has it as 1905. Quote
Jakesshop Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 From your tag as "SteamPunked" do you do any of the events down south? My wife and I are very active up here. Even going to a steampunk party tonight. If you want a link, PM me for it's a no-no on the forum. Quote
Frosty Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Welcome aboard, glad to have you. Once you find a shop anvil that suits you that little sweety will make an excellent portable. It looks to be in very good condition. Frosty The Lucky. Quote
SteamPunked Posted December 30, 2013 Author Posted December 30, 2013 Jakesshop: Thanks for the date, that's older than I thought. I follow the steam-punk group on Facebook but haven't made it to any events yet. Frosty: I was thinking the same thing about the anvil. I've signed up for some classes at Adam's Forge and now I can work at home but I'll keep searching for something in the 150 - 250 pound range. I'm hoping its true anvils attract anvils Quote
