H&I Forgeworks
Good Afternoon, I have just returned home from a hunting trip to our original family homestead up in the northern part of Alberta. While up there, i kept seeing old barns everywhere and my "anvilitis" was in full force. I asked my relative who farms the old farm if he knew of anyone with an anvil they were looking to get rid of. Long story short, I ended up inheriting my great grandfathers old anvil. I haven't a clue what the manufacturer is. There is a large chunk missing from the top plate and i am also wondering if this is going affect the usefulness of the anvil. I would really rather not "break" the anvil anymore, but i know that my Great-Grandfather would want nothing more than for me to use the old brute. What are your thoughts? Thanks for any info you may have. Lee H&I Forgeworks
Black Frog
Buckworth I would say. Not much info I've ever seen on them other than just the name....
ThomasPowers
Lots of life left that that one; I might think about doing some repairs to it; but that's your call on the "family anvil" Looks like someone used a sledge on it on a cold day! "You can't do large work on a small anvil"---and this is why!
