ironworkertom1
The serial number is A94004 and this is on the right front of the base. And the weight is 340 and the is on the left side of the base.
SilverDeck
The shape looks like a Hay Budden but if that's the case, then the serial number must be 194004 and it would date to about 1912. If you look closely it sure looks like a "1" with some damage marks to the left of it, which could make it look a little bit like an "A". From the picture is appears that this anvil may have been broken at the waist and rewelded.
ThomasPowers
If it is a Hay Buden it was made in Brooklyn NY and should be stamped on the side Hay Buden, Brooklyn NY
BCROB
1912 with those numbers
Old South Creations
are there any markings besides weight & serial #? any manufacturer marks would probably be on side with horn facing the right The markings and shape resemble my Trenton. A Trenton with that serial # would be 1910
ThomasPowers
What shape is the indentation on the bottom of the anvil?
Rhettbarnhart
That anvil looks a lot like my arm and hammer and the serial number is in the same place
ironworkertom1
The weight is on the left front of the base and the serial number is on the right side of the base and we are attaching pictures of the base to show the depression at the bottom. Old South Creations
the shape, placement of weight and serial number and oval depression all look like a Trenton to me. born in 1910 if it is a Trenton. No maker marks? (would be on side with the horn facing right)
ThomasPowers
the indentation is quite different than the HB's Much more indicative of a Trenton either way a good anvil!
