metal99
I can't find any marks on this anvil besides the serial number on the front foot "A145282", a 101 on the other front foot and an upside down "U" under the heal. It's got an olvel impression on the base. I still have to wire brush it but I couldn't wait to find out what she is so I thought I'd post a couple pictures and ask! Once I wire brush the whole thing I will post more pictures.
Black Frog
I'd say Trenton, recessed base, weight stamp on the foot. ....
Judson Yaggy
Oval recess, visible face plate with a serial number with an "A" prefix (HB's had gone to a solid top by the time they were using the "A" prefix IIRC). My vote is Trenton.
101 H-B
Yes, Trenton
metal99
Ok. Thanks a lot guys :) I was hoping it would have been a different brand because I already have a Trenton but the price was right.
BCROB
Ok. Thanks a lot guys :) I was hoping it would haive been a different brand because I already have a Trenton but the price was right. I could find some room in my shop if you didn't want 2 Trentons...........
metal99
Lol Rob, I'm ok with having two :) the first one I got isn't very good because I had to weld it back together at the waist.
ThomasPowers
Unlike Pokemon you do not have to collect them all! The Caplet is pretty distinctive for trentons though IIRC some do show up in Arm and Hammer's suggesting that the two shops sometimes shared stock when one was in need and the other had a surplus. metal99
Thomas, I don't collect them ALLL I can't afford some of them :) I only really have a couple great anvils, most of mine are pretty rough, cracked or broken and some are just plain old ;)
