J W Bennett
Finished this the other day, weather was nice so I took it outside to get some pictures. Vine is 3/4" mild steel, Grapes are 3/8" & 1/2" square mild steel, leaves are 14 ga. My first try at forging grapes, I usually just weld ball bearings together. I have to admit it's worth the extra effort in my opinion.
Frosty
Very nice piece JW. The forged grapes are much more attractive than bearings. People like to see the stock transformed from one thing to another. It's an all round well done project. It'll be an attractive addition anywhere. Frosty The Lucky. toolish
Very nice work mate, Those things would sell like hot cakes at any kind of wine convention, would would get a good price for them too. Guess you could always make another type where it comes out of the ground like a vine would giving you a nice base for it. Very nice work either way, keep them coming. lakeside forge
Did you hand forge every grape or use a ball jig?
J W Bennett
Did you hand forge every grape or use a ball jig? I used two different size spring swages.
