Black Frog
Always on the lookout for a good deal, I jumped on this one as quickly as I noticed it pop up locally for sale. I didn't bother haggling for price as I knew it would be gone immediately, $135. It wasn't pretty to begin with, but I could see a nice gem of an anvil under decades of dirt/rust/dust. I knew it was a Fisher, but was tickled to see the 1892 appear during the cleaning process... This is after 3-4 hours with wire brushes and a good washdown:

njanvilman
Nice FISHER. The pock marks on the side are both from the casting process and oxidation. And the 110 lb size is not that common. It is only slightly bigger than the 100. But Fisher made anvils in 10 lb increments up to 180 lbs for a long time. They supplied whatever the customer wanted. VaughnT
Fantastic find! At just over a dollar a pound, I wouldn't have even though about haggling for a cheaper deal! That thing is almost new and is a great size for general work. Very lucky you!!!!
Daniel S
I believe that I purchased this from you at quad state. I've been looking for a Fisher around this size for a while. It was nice meeting you.
Black Frog
Daniel, Indeed it was! Nice meeting you as well- I think we both got a nice deal for a great anvil. That anvil was not attractive when I got it, but I could see putting in investment time in getting it cleaned up so that it would make for a great anvil for someone. ;) Happy hammering!
