Blackblood
Beautiful weekend weather in Michigan, great time to fire up the forge. I made the wife a "sangria Spoon" for getting at all the wine infuse fruit at the bottom of the pitcher. Base stock 1/2 inch round bar, ended up approx 1/4 square and 14" long. I hammered the spoon end flat and cupped it in the hardy with a ball peen hammer. I caught myself day dreaming staring in the fire and ended up burning the middle, tried to hide it by rounding it. That was not working out so I gave up. Thanks for looking.
Frosty
Welcome aboard, glad to have you. Looks like added character to me, just a little something to enhance grip so no fruit gets away. You know how a well sangria soaked fruit can get. <grin> What' your dog's name? I LOVE dogs, we have 5. Frosty The Lucky.
mitch4ging
Neat idea, i think i might try one. what kind of finish did you put on, if any?
Blackblood
Frosty- Dogs name is Tara, she a boxer/mastiff mutt we rescued from a farm. Mitch4ging- Heated her up and used Olive Oil for the finish, waiting for it to cool down now so I can buff it up. I am a wee bit concerned that the oil I choose to use may impart a "off" flavor to the wine, but she will be the judge of that. Thank you both for the compliments, I hope top have more soon. Frosty
Tara. three of my favorite breeds boxers and mastifs are big hearted sweethearts but it's hard to beeat a good mutt. It's tempting but I won't spend a lot of bandwidth with dog pics. abut 3.5 years ago a rescued Great pyrenese mountain dog saved my life. A tree I was felig kicked back and near killed me on the spot but Libby rose enough ruckus Deb came out to see what was wrong. Libby, Abby and Patch went into a solid point at wherre I was dragging my broken, bleeding body out of the woods. I don't remember any of it, though I'm recalling up to maybe an hour before hand. Near fatal TBI will do that for ya. While the dogs saved me by sounding the alarm in time, EMS, hospital, etc. and the prayers of the gang here pulled me from the brink. Dogs didn't need to save my life for me to love them but it sure didn't hurt. <grin> I married a UPer so it's possible we'll be close enough to hook up and I'd love to give Tara a good shoulder rub and ear scritchin. Frosty The Lucky.
